Athavale, Lystad & Associates, Inc. (ALA) is a minority-owned (DBE) engineering consulting firm with offices in McLean, Virginia and Rockville, Maryland. Founded in 1985, ALA provides professional services to a wide range of public and private clients throughout the mid-Atlantic region in Civil, Structural and Hydraulic Design Engineering; in Construction Inspection; and in Environmental Studies and Documentation primarily in the transportation sector.

ALA has successfully undertaken significant multi-discipline engineering design and construction inspection roles on major transportation projects in the Mid-Atlantic region including the Dulles Metro Rail Extension Project, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Replacement Project, the 4th Lane Widening of the Dulles Toll Road, the Widening of I-66 from Rte. 234 to US Rte. 29 in Manassas and the I-495 HOT Lanes Project in Virginia, the Intercounty Connector in Montgomery County, Maryland, the Section 100 Widening of I-95 north of Baltimore, and the South Capitol Street Improvements in Washington, D.C.

ALA's current staff consists of more than 40 employees including many Professional Engineers, most with advance degrees in their area of expertise, Construction Engineering Inspectors, Technical Support Staff, and Administrative Personnel.
