About the Role
Duties and responsibilities include design of highway/roadway design related work including geotmetrics, storm drains, stormwater management systems, and water and sewer utilities. Applicant should be a civil engineer with EIT or PE registration and 5+ years in transportation/civil engineering and design as well as a BS degree in a relevant field. Applicant should be familiar with CADD (Microstation and AutoCAD) and also willing to learn a variety of software applications through company provided training. Experience in hydrology and hydraulics and familiarity with highway design standards including those of VDOT, MDOT, DDOT or other highway agencies is a plus.
Applicant should work well in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• EIT or PE registration required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge and transportation structure design and inspection
• NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges certification required
• Proficiency in CADD (MicroStation and AutoCAD)
• Willingness to learn additional software through company training
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
Preferred
• Familiarity with MDOT, DDOT, and/or VDOT design standards and procedures
• NHI certifications in Fracture Critical and Ancillary Structures
