FMT TOLL PLAZA

ALA provided structural preliminary and final design services for modifications of the existing toll plaza canopy and pedestrian access tunnel to replace four existing cash toll lanes with two EZ-Pass Express lanes.  Modifications included removal of a portion of the existing toll plaza canopy and replacement with a modified canopy with relocated supports to accommodate the new lane alignment; removal of the existing Lane 11, 12 and 13 toll booths, islands and cash facilities; modifications to the existing pedestrian access tunnel to eliminate stairway access; and coordination with toll communications and utilities to develop sequencing and construction requirements.  ALA also developed TS&L plans for floodwalls at each end of the tunnel.
